In sad, but not entirely surprising news, Octomom Nadya Suleman is doing what she swore she would never do and going on welfare, reports say.

The mother of 14 is getting $2,000 a month from the State of California, which sends it directly to a special debit account (see welfare card image).

The card can ONLY be used for food and is closely monitored to ensure its holder isn't making illegal purchases ... i.e. toys, pregnancy tests, etc.

Just two years ago, after giving birth to children 7-14, she said she refused to become "a self-fulfilling prophecy" by accepting state assistance.

She also said we'd never see Nadya Suleman nude. It's a week of firsts.

Octo got for the card because her income is less than $119,000 a year and a family of 15 that makes less than that is entitled to welfare benefits.

HAVANA (AP) ? A Cuban intelligence agent on probation after imprisonment in the United States arrived Friday for a two-week visit to see his ailing brother in Cuba, where authorities consider him and four other agents national heroes.

Rene Gonzalez, one of the "Cuban Five" spies arrested in 1998, flew to the island around noon for a "private family visit," according to an official note read on the news. It repeated his previous vows to return to the U.S. to serve out the rest of his probation.

"Our people welcome our beloved Rene to the country and will not cease in the struggle for his definitive return, along with his four dear brothers," a state newscaster said, reading from the official statement.

Cuba appeared set on playing down Gonzalez's return, with no footage of an airport greeting or mass welcoming ceremony like the ones that greeted young raft survivor Elian Gonzalez ? no relation ? upon his return from Florida in 2000. Word of his arrival did not come until he was already here, and was the last item on the midday news.

The Cuban Five were convicted of spying on Cuban exiles in South Florida and trying to infiltrate military installations and political campaigns. Havana says they were only trying to keep tabs on violent exile groups who unleashed a bombing campaign on the island that killed an Italian tourist. The other four agents are still behind bars.

Rene Gonzalez was freed in October but was ordered to remain in the U.S. for three years under terms of his supervised release, a ruling that angered Cuban authorities.

On March 19, U.S. District Judge Joan Lenard granted Gonzalez, a dual U.S.-Cuban citizen, permission to travel to see his brother, who is gravely ill with cancer.

Lenard ordered Gonzalez to give a detailed itinerary of the trip including addresses and phone numbers, and to remain in regular contact with his probation officer. He has two weeks from the date of his departure to return to Florida.

Philip Horowitz, Gonzalez's attorney in Miami, said his client will honor his promise to return since he does not want to do anything that could jeopardize the cases of the other Cuban Five or turn him into an international fugitive.

"He is going to follow that order to the letter," Horowitz said. "Like I said from the beginning, this has nothing to do with politics. It's a humanitarian visit."

Lenard's ruling came despite the U.S. Justice Department's objections that Gonzalez might have contact with Cuban intelligence agents and get new covert tasks to perform once he returned to the U.S.

Gonzalez's return could renew hope for Alan Gross, the U.S. government subcontractor serving 15 years in a Cuban prison. His mother has inoperable cancer, and he wants to visit her in Dallas on her birthday, April 15. Like Gonzalez, he has promised to return.

"I am pleased that our government has allowed Rene Gonzalez to return to Cuba to be with his ailing brother. I certainly empathize with his family's suffering," said Gross' wife, Judy.

"I pray that President Raul Castro will find it in his heart to reciprocate the U.S. gesture and give us a positive answer," she said in a statement. "This is Cuba's chance to show that they are serious about dealing with Alan's case on what they themselves have called a 'reciprocal humanitarian basis.'"

Though Washington and Havana have repeatedly insisted that Gross and the Cuban Five are separate cases, some have expressed hope that a humanitarian swap might be arranged.

"We have repeatedly urged the government of Cuba to release Alan Gross so he can rejoin his family," U.S. State Department spokesman Mark Toner said. "It would be a very good thing if the Cuban government were to take this opportunity to release Alan Gross."

Gross, 62, was sentenced under a Cuban statute governing crimes against the state after bringing restricted communications equipment onto the island. He says he was just helping the country's Jewish community improve its Internet connection, but Cuba contends the goals of the USAID program were ultimately aimed at overthrowing the government.

Hip-hop is going Hollywood — or is it the other way around? On May 22, MTV2 will premiere "Hip Hop Squares", a fresh new take on the iconic tic-tac-toe game show "Hollywood Squares."

Nick Cannon, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Mac Miller and Machine Gun Kelly will be featured as contestants. "Jackass" crewmember Bam Margera, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley and Wu-Tang's Ghostface Killah also will appear on the show, hosted by New York radio DJ Peter Rosenberg.

" 'Hip Hop Squares' is a great representation of MTV2's new brand filter to deliver smart, funny and relevant content that speaks directly to male Millennials, or 'Malennials,' as we call them," said Paul Ricci, head of programming for MTV2. "The show will refresh an iconic format and create a fun, dynamic series that's unpredictable, heavy on personality and much more 'party' than 'game show.' "

If the new incarnation of "Squares" stays true to the original, two contestants (one representing "X," and the other representing "O") will compete for prizes in a trivia-styled game where the show's stars are situated on a giant tic-tac-toe board.

After the question is answered, the contestant can choose whether to agree or disagree. If the contestant is right, they capture the square; if he or she is wrong, their opponent wins the square. As a complement to the outfit's Jam guitar adapter, the Apogee MiC is the latest foray into mobile recording. Much like its guitar specific counterpart, the MiC is both iDevice and Mac compatible and its compact stature won't take up precious real estate in your travel pack. But, as you may expect, staying mobile comes at a premium. So, is the $249 price tag a deal breaker for the MiC? As part of the digestive system, the colon and rectum participate in the process of converting food into the energy used to power bodily functions. The colon, also commonly known as the large intestine, is responsible for the absorption of excess water and some vitamins from waste as it passes through. Colorectal cancer occurs when the cells comprising these tissues proliferate out of control and threaten the health of the rest of the body.

According to the American Cancer Society, the vast majority of colorectal cancers develop from structures known as polyps. Polyps are small growths that can develop on the inside of the colon or rectum and can be either raised or flat in appearance. Although many polyps are benign, or non-cancerous, some can develop into colorectal cancer. Anyone can develop colon polyps, but some factors can put you at higher risk. You may have an increased risk of colon polyps if you:

• Are 50 years of age or older
• Have developed colon polyps in the past
• Are closely related to someone who has had polyps or colon cancer
• Have been diagnosed with uterine or ovarian cancer in the past
• Drink to excess, are overweight, smoke, or eat a lot of fatty foods (especially animal fats)

One of the most effective ways to detect colon polyps and evaluate them for cancer is to undergo regular colonoscopies. If polyps are found during this exam, the physician can remove them for biopsy. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that men and women begin screening for colorectal cancer at 50 years of age and continue until the age of 75.

In his statement he claimed that he had not actually used my app but by the way my screenshots looked he could tell that my app "plagiarizes" his functionality, layout and appearance. Does apple even look at these claims before they send them out? Or am I just crazy to think that maybe someone might have to use an app to know that the app plagiarizes functionality, layout and appearance? Later in the letter he states that his sales have been hurt and that my app is ranked higher than his. he even states that I have grass in one of my backgrounds and so does he but on a diff page.... I guess he holds the copyright to having grass backgrounds on sports apps heads up everyone. idk this just blows my mind. I will keep you updated on the case. I have since written him back explaining that my app acts nothing like his and in fact has 2x the stats and features that his app has. I even offered to give him a promo so he could see that they are not the same. I dont know law that well and could be totally wrong but this just seems silly. If others could share their experiences that would be great. I am not sure what to expect but I will share how the process goes for me. But let me try to help you basicly and fundamentally, 1-Whose app is first on iTunes ? 2-He has a registered patent or something like this ? 3-It is impossible to hold a grassed surfaced background for sport apps. Its unbelievable, if its so, i know many apps which has to be removed. 4-IP Law, accepts "inspiration". You may have inspired by something or his app(lets say you really copied him, i know you did not) Because of not to knowing legal terminalogy very well (workin on it), i cannot help you about writing a good answer to Apple, i m sorry for that.

So your ranking dont go up. Pathetic if you ask me. Counter their claim with your own to apple, and dont try to reason with them there is no point there are countless claims like this on this forum, in all cases the one upset that you copied the app, is usually someone very stubborn and irrational. Republic Wireless to open next beta of hybrid VOIP service this summer

The $19 all-you-can-eat smartphone service that seemed great, then not-so-great, then great again is about to re-open public beta testing. We're told that the first phase of the beta is "going very well", to the point where Republic Wireless feels it can "skip the baby steps" and offer its hybrid VOIP/cellular goodies to another batch of experimental folks starting in June. The provider also promises a new handset as early as April, a smoother transition between WiFi and cellular calling (on Sprint's frequencies) in May, and a full-on public launch at some point in the undeclared or undecided future. Not ready to abandon your Big Cell provider just yet? Then Republic Wireless makes one more promise: a way for customers with other carriers to save money on their bills even before they make the leap. Consider us intrigued!
